Quality Control Lab Technician Job Description
Join our team as a Quality Control Lab Technician, where you will play an essential role in ensuring the quality and safety of our fermentation products. You will be responsible for performing microbiological quality control testing and related documentation for animal probiotics used in animal feed. This is an excellent entry‑level opportunity for recent graduates with a background in microbiology or biology.
Responsibilities- Prepare and sterilize media as necessary.
- Clean and maintain used glassware.
- Perform general cleaning of the lab area.
- Conduct microbial testing on bacterial samples, including pathogen testing and enumeration of products.
- Maintain the Retainer Testing Program.
- Input data into Excel spreadsheets.
- Swab and test for allergens and environmental contaminants.
- Maintain the Microbial Control Program.
- Sample raw materials as necessary.
- Perform tasks following GMP, FAMIqs, and FSMA requirements.
- Basic understanding of microbiology or biological lab techniques.
- Knowledge of aseptic techniques.
- Quality control experience, including QC documentation.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in an academic setting is acceptable.
- Background in microbiology, biology, or related fields.
Work in a micro lab environment as part of a small team of four individuals, alongside a manager. This first‑shift role operates from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30/4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. This position offers a supportive and educational environment, making it ideal for recent college graduates.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Milwaukee, WI.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
