As a case manager with DWFS, you will work with job/career seekers to ensure they have the skills and resources to find and maintain self‑sustaining employment, help employers locate the talent they need to thrive, and achieve success by meeting goals and putting customers to work.

Primary Objectives of Position

The career navigator provides integrated workforce planning services to career center customers. Aids customers in developing, evaluating, and implementing plans to find employment and/or improve employment skills. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining contact with customers and service providers, engaging customers in self‑assessment, and facilitating employment opportunities.

Essential Job Functions
  • Interview customers to assess ongoing service needs, obtain occupational information, and explore employment and training opportunities.
  • Coaching customers to present themselves effectively and obtain optimal employment placement.
  • Provide career advisement, including developing individual employment/placement plans, referrals, and job placement or advancement services.
  • Conduct visits to customers' homes, training providers, and employment sites.
  • Develop and implement service plans, ensuring they are maintained and updated.
  • Coordinate service provider activities.
  • Implement prescribed program procedures and accurate case management.
  • Provide ongoing case management and serve as liaison between customers and service providers; manage a comprehensive caseload of job seekers.
  • Provide employment services on an ongoing basis.
  • Assist participants in retaining employment.
  • Accurately document customer interactions with well‑written case notes; prepare reports as requested.
  • Address unique needs and barriers of customers, creating an inclusive environment and ensuring equitable access.
  • Utilize Extreme Customer Service behaviors in all interactions with internal and external customers.

Physical Demands / Work Environment

Physical requirements include carrying/lifting up to 5 pounds frequently, up to 10 pounds regularly, and up to 25 pounds occasionally. Visual acuity, speech and hearing, hand and eye coordination, and manual dexterity are required for driving and use of computer equipment. Working conditions are primarily in an office environment with occasional travel.
