How You’ll ContributeThe Senior ESS (Electronic Security System) Installation Technician performs a wide variety of installation duties on technology projects. You will coordinate with project management, field superintendents, and others to understand your role on specific projects, interpret drawing packages, and install, test, and troubleshoot systems. You will handle the most complex designs, mentor other technicians, and set an example in all aspects of the job.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Know and learn what is on the BOM for every job and the material required.
- Maintain the job schedule timeline for device and head‑end installations and terminations.
- Take ownership of job schedules and prioritize your time to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Maintain constant communication with the Site Supervisor and promptly report problems, missing or defective equipment, and inventory needs.
- Keep written records on One Note of work accomplished, project issues, site readiness, inventory, and RFIs.
- Assist installation technicians with questions or concerns regarding device and head‑end work.
You will work independently on client sites, coordinate with clients, contractors, and subcontractors, and be the key senior field supervisor in many situations. You will make onsite decisions on behalf of the PM and exercise diplomacy with clients and stakeholders.
Physical DemandsThe role requires exposure to construction‑site conditions. You may spend at least 50% of your time on your feet and move materials up to 40 pounds. You must use PPE, climb ladders, use stairs, and operate keyboards and test equipment as required.
TravelThis is a 100% onsite role supporting a major, long‑term project in Boydton, VA. If you do not reside locally, travel and lodging expenses are reimbursed. You must possess a valid driver’s license and use your own vehicle, with mileage reimbursed at the corporate rate.
Safety- Maintain and wear appropriate PPE.
- Identify and address hazards promptly.
- High school or GED equivalent.
- 2+ years of recent hands‑on experience installing access control and video surveillance cameras in large‑scale commercial environments, including data centers and new construction.
- Lenel experience/certification preferred.
- Ability to understand access control/CCTV systems, install ACS, CCTV, intercom related equipment, and troubleshoot installations.
- Administrative capabilities: proficiency with Teams, Outlook, One Note, Blue Beam, Adobe Reader; knowledge of project drawings, programming matrix, SRDs, UILs, JHAs, THAs, RHAs, RFIs, redlines; ability to review and understand matrix drawings, BOM lists, SRDs; maintain schedule and follow DIV
28 specifications.
