The Firmware Engineer develops, maintains, and tests embedded firmware for motor control and protection systems. Responsibilities include requirements definition, design, implementation, testing, and review of firmware. The role reports to the Firmware Development Team Lead and operates on a hybrid schedule.

• Develop features for motor protection and soft starter devices
• Firmware development using C/C++
• Apply knowledge of 3‑phase power systems, motor theory, and motor control algorithms
• Optimize code for performance, memory usage, and simplicity
• Validate code for reliability, safety, and security
• Participate in requirement specification, design, coding, unit testing, and reviews
• Lead investigation of anomalies and new features
• Communicate technical information verbally and in writing
• Organize activities of other employees
• Work in an Agile development environment

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of relevant work experience
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. (no visa sponsorship)

• Minimum of 5 years of related experience
• Master of Science in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
• Background in firmware development on embedded platforms
• Understanding of digital and analog hardware
• Experience in embedded software development with an emphasis on real‑time systems
• Strong background in control theory, 3‑phase power systems, and motor theory
• Experience with TUV 62443 security products
• Experience with TUV 61508 functional safety products
• Python coding experience
