The Senior Software Test Engineer will help ensure the quality of Factory Talk Optix by creating and executing manual and automated tests for new and existing product functionality. This role will work closely with product owners, developers, and other test engineers to understand requirements, validate features, reproduce and document defects, and support regression and release testing activities. The scope of work is focused on developing solid test engineering practices, learning the product and industrial automation domain, and contributing to a high-quality customer experience.
Responsibilities- Create, maintain, and execute manual and automated tests for Factory Talk Optix features.
- Validate design-time and runtime workflows to help ensure a reliable customer experience.
- Lead test planning, estimation, execution, and defect triage as part of an Agile team.
- Reproduce, document, and track defects with clear titles, descriptions, steps, and supporting details.
- Collaborate with developers, product owners, and other test engineers to understand requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Support regression, release, and exploratory testing activities.
- Contribute to test documentation, quality procedures, and continuous improvement of test practices.
- Use tools such as JIRA, QTest, Confluence, Git Hub, and Jenkins to support testing and quality tracking.
- Learn FT Optix product functionality and relevant industrial automation concepts over time.
- Collaborate effectively with geographically distributed teams.
- You Will Have Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Legal authorization to work in the US is required.
- Typically requires a minimum of 4 years of experience in software testing, software development, test automation, or a related technical role.
- Experience creating, executing, and documenting manual or automated test cases.
- Experience developing or maintaining automated tests using Python, C#, or similar programming or scripting languages.
- Experience with Squish and Selenium test frameworks.
- Experience creating or updating Git Hub Actions.
- Familiarity with Linux.
- Experience with C# scripting.
- Familiarity with test automation frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, and tools such as Git Hub, Jenkins, JIRA, Confluence, or QTest.
- Exposure to performance, reliability, longevity, or regression testing.
- Experience with industrial automation, HMI software, PLCs, and protocols such as CIP or OPC-UA.
