Full-Time Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) (Healthcare)
Treat patients as directed by the Physical Therapist. Record daily treatment notes and weekly progress notes per PT Board regulations. Assist in maintaining the department and participate in Patient Care and Rehabilitation Conferences as needed. Help with cleaning and maintenance of the treatment area. Follow the physician's treatment plan for patient care. Assist the nursing department with training Restorative Aides. Communicate with supervisors and other healthcare team members regarding patient progress, issues, and plans.
Participate in in-service training programs for staff. Record treatment changes according to policies and procedures. Educate patients' families or nursing staff on maintenance programs and caregiver training in preparation for discharge. Report any equipment issues to ensure proper maintenance.
Must relate positively and effectively with patients, families, staff, and colleagues. This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications:
- Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant in the state.
- Proficient in computer skills, including inputting data into programs like Casamba and Point Click Care.
- Ability to read and understand technical procedures, policies, and manuals.
- Effective communication skills to present information and respond to questions.
- Mathematical skills including fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
- Problem-solving and interpretative skills for practical instructions.
- Maintain a valid license and meet continuing education requirements.
Physical Demands: Standing, walking frequently; sitting occasionally; reaching, pushing, pulling frequently; talking and hearing frequently; tasting and smelling frequently; exerting force up to 100 pounds occasionally, 50 pounds frequently, and 20 pounds constantly; occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling; good vision and focus ability.
Work Environment: Usually low to moderate noise levels. Reasonable accommodations available for individuals with disabilities.
