Industrial Maintenance Technician

Estes Energetics, a leader in aerospace and defense technology, is seeking a skilled Industrial Maintenance Technician to support the reliable operation of our manufacturing facility in Camp Minden, Minden, LA.

Summary
  • Maintain a wide range of equipment: production machinery, rotating equipment, HVAC, boilers, plumbing, and general facility repairs.
  • Collaborate closely with the production team to troubleshoot machinery while ensuring safety protocols.
  • Dress in work‑specific attire and follow stringent hygiene and safety procedures.
Essential Functions
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and control systems to identify root causes and determine appropriate repairs.
  • Perform preventative and predictive maintenance and repairs on equipment, machinery, and facility infrastructure.
  • Install new equipment and systems, ensuring proper alignment, functionality, and integration.
  • Perform facility maintenance tasks such as lighting, plumbing, HVAC, and general building repairs.
  • Build, install, and repair wooden structures and fixtures as needed.
  • Execute and maintain preventive maintenance schedules both manually and through CMMS.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities in paper and electronic formats.
  • Follow all regulatory, environmental, and safety standards, including lock‑out/tag‑out procedures.
Competencies, Experience, and Education
  • 3–5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or plant environment.
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and control troubleshooting skills.
  • Carpentry tasks: framing, wall & floor repairs, shelving, wood construction and repairs around equipment.
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, blueprints, and diagrams.
  • Experience with equipment installation and system integration.
  • Facility maintenance familiarity: plumbing, HVAC, lighting, and general repairs.
  • Competency using CMMS and maintaining accurate records.
  • Knowledge of safety standards (lock‑out/tag‑out, PPE, OSHA regulations).
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills; experience with Excel.
  • Effective communication and teamwork; able to work independently or in a cross‑functional team.
  • Adaptability and problem‑solving in fast‑paced/high‑pressure situations.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain state and federal explosives licenses.
  • 21 years of age or older.
  • Pass pre‑employment drug test and state/federal background checks.
Desired
  • General carpentry skills: framing, drywall repair, minor construction, and structural maintenance.
Work Environment

The role is based primarily within an industrial setting focused on explosives manufacturing.

Physical Demands
  • Lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Comfortable in sitting, standing, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
  • Exposure to industrial machines, heat, cold, and explosives.
  • Frequent movement through a manufacturing environment.
  • Use of personal protective equipment appropriate to the work location.
Salary

$24.00 – $36.00 per hour depending on experience.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

Full‑time position. Typical workdays: a 4×10 schedule (10 hours/day, 4 days/week). 40 hours per week. Occasional overtime and weekends may be required during busy periods.
