Learning Support Worker (Part-Time)

Every Tuesday and Wednesday, 9:30am - 3:30pm
Pay: £14.25 - £16.68 per hour (dependent on skills, experience, and qualifications)

Prospero Teaching is seeking an experienced and compassionate Learning Support Worker to provide specialist support to young adults within an adult learning environment in Somerset.
This rewarding role involves supporting learners with Specific Learning Differences (SpLD) and helping them to access learning opportunities, build confidence, and achieve their educational goals. The successful candidate will work closely with learners during sessions and complete a short written summary following each session to record the support provided and learner progress.
Key Responsibilities- Provide tailored learning support to young adults with Specific Learning Differences.
- Assist learners in accessing and engaging with course content.
- Adapt support strategies to meet individual learning needs.
- Encourage learner independence, confidence, and participation.
- Maintain accurate records and complete brief session summaries after each support session.
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff and other professionals to support positive learner outcomes.
- Previous experience supporting young people or adults with Specific Learning Differences (SpLD).
- Relevant training, qualifications, or demonstrable experience in learning support, SEN, education, or a related field.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent written skills to produce concise and accurate support records.
- A patient, supportive, and professional approach.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
- Competitive hourly pay of £14.25 - £16.68 depending on experience and qualifications.
