Position Summary

To safely, expeditiously, and efficiently install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production machinery, equipment, and other designated facility assets to support the achievement of the site’s business goals. The role uses a total predictive/productive maintenance (TPM) system approach to ensure optimal equipment performance and minimize downtime.

Responsibilities
  • Assist Maintenance Technicians with installing and maintaining production machinery and plant equipment.
  • Perform emergency and unscheduled repairs.
  • Execute scheduled maintenance, machine service, and preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Fabricate non‑commercial parts using basic machinist skills and hand tools.
  • Apply mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic skills for troubleshooting, diagnostics, adjustments, and repairs.
  • Read, interpret, and follow equipment manuals and work orders.
  • Support troubleshooting and minor repairs on plant fire prevention and sprinkler systems.
  • Install, repair, and maintain communication and power distribution cables, including splicing.
  • Respond to Maintenance Service Requests for HVAC and other equipment, and assist in necessary adjustments and repairs.
  • Document work orders using the eMaint program.
  • Perform plumbing, carpentry, and other maintenance tasks as required.
  • Maintain accurate records and required documentation.
  • Keep the maintenance shop and work areas safe and clean.
  • Follow 5S and TPM systems.

Supervisory Responsibilities
  • None
Qualifications
  • At least 5 years of experience in a manufacturing machinery maintenance environment.
  • Knowledge of industrial equipment, machinery, tools, gauges, meters, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Ability to operate heavy equipment (preferred).
  • Understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints.
  • Experience with eMaint software (a plus).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong reading and interpretation skills for work instructions, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Basic math skills and ability to convert between metric and standard units.
  • Ability to solve practical problems in varied situations.
  • Forklift operation and a clean driving record (preferred).
Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma and/or GED.
  • Related experience and/or training or an equivalent combination.
Physical Demands
  • Stand for long periods
  • Bend, stoop, walk, kneel, crouch, carry, and climb
  • Use hands and arms for finger, handle, feel, and reach
  • Talk and hear
  • Lift and/or move 1 to 20 pounds frequently, and up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Work from elevated platforms, ladders, and/or manlifts
  • Use vision for close, peripheral, depth, and focus adjustments
Work Environment

The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and electrical shock risks. The environment may be non‑controlled temperature and moderate to high noise levels. Welding and airborne metal particles may be present in the vessel shop areas.
