Accounting Specialist

Goodmanson Construction is looking for a self-motivated, enthusiastic, hard-working individual to join our ever-growing team. We are looking for a highly organized, self-motivated and friendly Accounting Specialist to make a positive impact on our daily operations.

This position will perform a variety of accounting and payroll tasks to assist the Accounting Department in day-to-day financial activities. Primary duties will include being responsible for Accounts Payable functions for the company. Work schedule is Monday through Friday.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Process a high volume of invoices: ensure all general ledger coding, general ledger periods, and due dates are met; completed accurately and timely using multiple software programs
• Code and enter invoices: partners with appropriate management to ensure all vendor invoices are properly approved according to Company policy
• Understand, or ability to learn, sales and use tax as it pertains to the construction industry
• Perform multiple weekly check runs and process ACH payments
• Set up new customers in the accounting software.
• Assist with weekly billing reports and collections.
• Assist Accounting Management in payroll functions as needed, maintain confidentiality, and handle sensitive calls and files, establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationship with staff

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

• Bachelor’s or Associate degree, preferably in Accounting or a minimum 2-4 years of related experience
• Strong computer proficiency to include MS Office programs and other Accounting software
• Detail-oriented
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

QUALIFICATIONS DESIRED:

• Experience with Spectrum accounting software
• Experience with Dropbox
• Experience with Certified Payroll/Prevailing Wage
• Comfortable with Apple and PC computer operation
