What you’ll do

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail‑oriented Senior Accounting Manager to ensure the consolidation accuracy, compliance, and integrity of financial reporting and technical accounting within a government contracting environment. The role requires deep expertise in US GAAP, FAR, CAS, and federal reporting requirements, along with strong oversight of internal controls and policy enforcement.

  • Research and apply advanced accounting standards including US GAAP, FAR, and CAS.
  • Prepare technical accounting memos for transactions such as indirect cost allocations, contract modifications, and revenue recognition under cost‑reimbursable and fixed‑price contracts.
  • Monitor and implement changes in federal regulations and accounting standards.
  • Support accounting for government‑specific transactions including incurred cost submissions, allowable/unallowable cost determinations, and contract close‑outs.
  • Ensure consistent application of accounting policies and identify/report deviations.
  • Develop and maintain internal controls over financial reporting and compliance with federal cost principles.
  • Manage indirect rate structures and monitor cost pools for compliance with CAS.
  • Supervise accounting functions such as billing, revenue recognition, and cost allocations under government contracts.
  • Prepare audit‑ready documentation for DCAA, DCMA, and other oversight bodies.
  • Reporting
  • Responsible for overall management of the General Ledger and Balance Sheet to ensure accuracy of financial data.
  • Oversee preparation of financial statements and reports required under federal contracts, including DCAA‑compliant schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with federal reporting requirements such as incurred cost submissions and audit‑related documentation.
  • Prepare financial reports, review account balance reconciliations, and journals.
  • Monitor and manage organizational spending, ensuring that accounting staff appropriately code expenses and revenues in compliance with internal and external regulations.
  • Maintain accurate files to ensure compliance of financial records.
  • Lead month‑end close activities, ensuring accurate cash balances, receivable follow‑ups, and timely payables.
  • Perform account reconciliations to ensure data accuracy.
  • Prepare timely financial statements and supporting reports in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Prepare monthly schedules and reports for management across programmatic areas such as grants and events.
  • Assist in the preparation and management of the organizational budget and guide junior staff.
  • Collaborate with auditors during the annual audit, managing the audit and ensuring timely responses.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, organize accounts, conduct financial analysis, recommend improvements, and other related duties as needed.
What we’re looking for
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
  • CPA required.
  • Public accounting experience preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in technical accounting, including government contracting.
  • Experience with government ERP systems and reporting tools.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills in Microsoft Office; experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 or similar ERP.
