Responsibilities
  • Policies & Controls – Ensure efficient policies, procedures and internal controls are in place
  • Financial Reporting – Lead month‑end close process, coordinate closing of the division’s books, and report results in conformity with US GAAP and corporate policies
  • Percentage of Completion Accounting – Maintain forecast capability, assess resource deployment, ensure cost accumulation, and manage the construction accounting process from start to finish; prepare month‑end reporting (WIP, over/under, gross margin, revenue recognition, etc.)
  • Project Forecasting – Work with project managers to provide accurate data on jobs and cost accounting
  • Audit – Partner with external auditors and provide accurate documentation, including “Prepared by Client” deliverables
  • Transaction Processing – Manage and supervise AR, AP, Job Costing, General Ledger, Contracts Management and Purchasing
  • Monthly Performance Review – Maintain KPI dashboards and steer analytical processes to assess operational and financial performance; provide recommendations for cost reduction and resource redeployment
  • Team Management – Supervise staff of 4–8 people
  • Financial Planning & Analysis – Support annual planning cycle, budget consolidation, analytics, management review and board presentations
  • Lead various operational and financial analyses and prepare ad‑hoc operational and financial reports upon request
  • ERP and System Deployment – Aid in implementation of new ERP and additional software tools to modernise and scale the business
Essential Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, in public accounting (Big 4) or corporate accounting
  • Construction industry experience preferred
  • Certified Public Accountant required
  • Firm knowledge of US GAAP
  • Strong knowledge of ASC 606 and percentage‑completion accounting preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and rigorous, methodical approach
  • Effective collaboration with accounting team, management, project managers and external auditors
  • Produce accurate and timely accounting reports
  • Strong, polished written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent analytical, critical thinking and problem‑solving abilities
  • Strong time‑management and organisational skills; adaptable in fast‑paced environments
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines; responsive and action‑oriented
  • Strong analytical and mathematical ability
  • Success in developing teams using leadership and talent‑development strategies
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel;
    Sage 300 CRE ideal; IFS or One Stream a plus
  • Impeccable work ethics, objective and candid with a desire for transparency
  • Accountable and willing to commit to transforming the finance function; follow‑through on commitments, drive for closure and sustainable results
Salary

Salary: $110k–$150k depending on experience.
