Seasonal Tax Preparer

Seasonal Tax Preparer (Busy Season) Base pay range

$30.00/hr - $60.00/hr

1.5x pay for overtime hours

No benefits (seasonal role)

We’re looking for a seasonal tax preparer to help us through busy season. You’ll work with individuals and closely held businesses, support return preparation, and help keep our workflow moving efficiently while maintaining quality.

• Prepare 1040 returns (multi-state as needed; rentals; Schedule C/E/F; K-1 input)
• Prepare business returns as experience allows:
  1120-S, 1065, 1120 and related state filings
• Organize and process client tax documents (Smart Vault/portal and internal workflow tools)
• Support basic bookkeeping/tax clean-up items when needed (QBO, year-end adjustments)
• Communicate professionally with clients for missing items and clarifications
• Work on-site with a team that values responsiveness, quality, and relationships

• Tax preparation experience (paid preparer experience strongly preferred)
• Comfortable preparing 1040s; business returns a plus
• Familiarity with Lacerte preferred (or similar professional tax software)
• Detail-oriented, reliable, and able to manage deadlines during peak weeks
• Strong communication skills and a good team attitude
• Overtime may be available/required during peak weeks and is paid at 1.5x
