Accounts Payable Manager

Charles Joy is looking for a talented Accounts Payable Manager for our client in the NW metro. This is a full‑time, direct‑hire opportunity. Three days a week are in the office and two are from home.

Ideally, we're looking for someone who has managed AP professionals in the past, but a strong supervisor level is also encouraged to apply.

• Lead, train, mentor and supervise a small team of Accounts Payable Specialists.
• Review invoices for accuracy/completeness including authorizing payment.
• Prioritize invoices to ensure bills are processed in the appropriate order.
• Communicate with other leaders in and outside of the finance and accounting departments.
• Ensure that all vendors provide appropriate documentation of status such as Form W‑9’s prior to being set up and any payments being transmitted.
• Responsible for the accuracy of the AP month‑end and year‑end reconciliations, processing and timely submission of filings to the IRS and vendors.
• Process expense reports and credit card transactions, uploading to general ledger systems.
• Provide backup for ACH payments in a timely manner.
• Communicate any issues with payables in a timely fashion.
• Create budget and forecasts for the accounts payable department.
• Proactively identify and implement Accounts Payable process improvements.
• Create strong relationships with managers outside the accounting department.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Minimum five years of progressive and recent Accounts Payable experience with a multi‑state or international company.
• Experience managing AP staff, including training, hiring and development strongly preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field strongly preferred.
• Oracle, SAP, Great Plains or related ERP experience.
• Requires understanding of ACH payments.
• Intermediate or stronger Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
