Accounts Payable Specialist

Description We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join a busy accounting team. This long-term contract position is suited for a detail-focused individual who can manage a large volume of payables activity while maintaining accuracy and strong internal communication. The role centers on invoice processing, reimbursement handling, reporting, and administrative support in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Candidates with strong Excel capabilities and experience using Abila MIP will be well positioned for success.

Responsibilities:

- Manage a high volume of accounts payable activity, including vendor invoices, employee expense reimbursements, ACH payments, and check processing.

- Enter financial data into Abila MIP with precision and verify account coding to support accurate recordkeeping.

- Prepare recurring and ad hoc accounts payable reports to assist the accounting team with tracking and analysis.

- Maintain organized documentation through filing, reconciliation support, and upkeep of payable records.

- Respond to questions from internal staff regarding invoice status, reimbursement requests, and other payment-related matters.

- Contribute to assigned month-end close tasks by helping compile information and support timely completion of deadlines.

- Use advanced Excel tools, including pivot tables and lookup functions, to review data, identify discrepancies, and organize large datasets.

- Work closely with accounting colleagues to keep workflows moving efficiently and ensure financial information remains accurate and up to date. Requirements - At least 2 years of experience in accounts payable or a closely related accounting support role.

- Demonstrated background handling high-volume invoice processing and employee reimbursement transactions.

- Hands-on experience with Abila MIP is strongly preferred.

- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to work with pivot tables and VLOOKUP formulas.

- Strong data entry accuracy and careful attention to detail in a deadline-oriented setting.

- Ability to produce reports, maintain supporting records, and manage documentation efficiently.

- Solid organizational, time management, and communication skills for working with internal stakeholders.
