Bookkeeper

Urban Remodeling helps homeowners transform their spaces through residential remodeling projects, including kitchens, bathrooms, and whole-home renovations. We are looking for a detail-oriented, proactive bookkeeper to take ownership of our day-to-day financial operations and help keep the business organized and on track financially.

The Bookkeeper will manage key financial processes, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash flow tracking, and financial recordkeeping. This person will work directly with the owner to maintain accurate records, improve financial visibility, and establish consistent processes that support the company's continued growth.

We are looking for someone who can work independently, follow through on responsibilities, and identify opportunities to streamline financial operations.

• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring transactions are recorded and processed accurately and on time.
• Monitor cash flow and help maintain visibility into incoming payments and outgoing expenses.
• Maintain accurate, organized financial records in Quick Books.
• Track invoices, payments, outstanding balances, and other financial transactions.
• Reconcile bank and credit card accounts and investigate discrepancies.
• Maintain organized financial documentation and support routine financial reporting.
• Develop and improve bookkeeping procedures to promote accuracy, consistency, and accountability.
• Communicate with the owner regarding cash flow, outstanding payments, and financial process improvements.
• Help ensure financial information is current, reliable, and readily accessible.

• 3-5 years of experience in bookkeeping or a similar accounting support role.
• Hands-on experience with Quick Books.
• Strong understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and basic cash flow management.
• Experience maintaining financial records and reconciling accounts.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• The ability to manage priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently.
• Clear communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• A high level of discretion when handling confidential financial information.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience supporting a small or growing business.
• Experience in residential construction, remodeling, or a related industry.
• Familiarity with job costing, project expenses, or construction-related financial workflows.
