Serve as a vital part of the Event Production Team by coordinating and running production for Walker internal events and Facility Rental events.

WHAT YOU GET TO DO Event Coordination
  • Primarily function as technical coordinator and technician for Event Production, Rental and Internal events
  • Cultivate, review, and coordinate all technical requests from programmers by arranging for and setting up equipment, managing staffing needs and schedules
  • Oversee related budgets and expenditures for events, providing all necessary documentation and reporting to stakeholders
  • Serve as crew for installation and operation of audio, lighting, projection or rigging for onsite and offsite rehearsals and performances for programming and rentals
  • Serve as an advocate for the Walker Art Center’s aesthetic, budget, and safety concerns when coordinating with external partners
  • Maintain professional demeanor when interacting with artists and staff, being sensitive to cultural differences, and work to create a positive and supportive team environment
Maintenance
  • Assist with maintenance of all equipment and spaces for all meetings, rentals, EPP events
  • Arrange for equipment repairs, providing repair estimates for approval by EP AD, and coordinating shipping
  • Maintain the EP equipment in Mediatheque, Art Lab and floating inventory locations, performing minor repairs and cleaning of equipment and equipment booths
  • Proactively seek ways to improve and streamline departmental process and operations
WHAT WE NEED IN YOU
  • Bachelor’s degree in technical theater or equivalent experience is required
  • Must have working knowledge of all areas of technical theater, including lighting, audio, video and data projection, rigging, and carpentry
  • Minimum of three years of professional technical theatrical experience required
  • Must have audio mixing and recording expertise
  • Computer skills must include a working knowledge of database, word processing and drafting software and troubleshooting for computer presentation
  • Must have good written and verbal communication skills, be self-motivated, show initiative, and work well as part of a team and in deadline-driven situations
  • Must have a flexible and supportive attitude toward working with artists
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds unassisted
  • Comfortable working at heights by hydraulic lifts, extension ladders and theatrical grids
JOB SPECIFICATIONS

This position is considered full-time, non-exempt. As a non-exempt position, it is eligible for overtime pay. The compensation for this role is $31.25 hourly.

This position is covered by the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE) labor contract
