Podcast Reporter

Department Podcasts Reports  ToPodcast Producer Hours
15 per week

PayPiece rate only — you’re paid for what you file, at published rates. No hourly wage, no guaranteed minimum, no cap. No work submitted, no pay.

Responsibilities Responsible for reporting and gathering audio, sound recording, and editing assistance with the podcast

Ensure all deadlines are met, and podcast needs are fulfilled

Assist podcast editor in proofreading the podcast for fact or grammar errors, as well as ethical questions

Attend weekly meetings

Keep current on University and local news topics by reading local newspapers and news sites

Other duties as assigned by the Managing Editor and podcast editor

Report, write, and record ~1,200-word episodes on a bi-weekly basis

Qualifications

Must be a University of Minnesota student

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to deal with stress and meet deadlines

Willingness to learn new podcasting equipment and reporting techniques

Previous podcast/audio experience preferred, but not required
