Position: Unlicensed Dental Assistant for Dental Hygiene and Assisting Students – Class of 2026

Unlicensed Dental Assistant – Class of 2026

We are looking for an energetic, student‑dedicated Unlicensed Dental Assistant to support our clinical team while you gain hands‑on experience in a patient‑centered dental practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide compassionate, quality patient service through excellent chairside care and communication.
  • Assist doctors and hygienists during a variety of dental procedures including restorative, surgical, endodontic, pediatric, emergency and preventive treatments.
  • Prepare treatment rooms, instruments and materials while maintaining infection control and sterilization standards.
  • Support clinical flow by organizing patient records, digital charts and equipment setup.
  • Help manage daily patient scheduling and assist with confirming appointments or updating records.
  • Perform basic laboratory tasks such as pouring study models and assisting with impressions.
  • Collaborate with the dental team to ensure efficient operations and a positive patient experience.
  • Participate in continuing education and mentorship opportunities offered by Park Dental.
  • Learn and apply Park Dental’s standards for safety, quality assurance and service excellence.
Essential Duties
  • Ensure quality patient service by providing thorough care, effective communication and personalized attention.
  • Assist doctors in basic and complex restorative, surgical, endodontic, pediatric, emergency and preventative treatments.
  • Effectively manage daily patient flow and provide information to the appropriate individuals.
  • Monitor and track laboratory cases and communicate information in a timely manner.
  • Prepare treatment rooms, patient records and equipment for procedures.
  • Perform laboratory procedures such as pouring study models.
  • Assist in managing doctors and hygienists’ schedules to achieve utilization goals.
  • Conduct office duties including appointment confirmation, insurance verifications and report generation.
  • Assist with telephone calls and direct calls to the appropriate individual when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate electronic patient record keeping and a complete database.
  • Maintain a clean work environment and meet sterilization and infection control standards.
  • Maintain dental equipment and instruments according to the small equipment preventative maintenance calendar.
  • Communicate and build a strong working relationship and promote teamwork through cooperative and professional behaviors.
  • Assume responsibility for personal professional growth through internal and external training opportunities and continuing education offerings.
  • Practice effective business applications to support the practice revenue objectives.
  • Follow and demonstrate commitment to Park Dental policies, guidelines and Service Excellence Standards.
Required Skills / Qualifications
  • Current student in a Dental Hygiene or Dental Assistant program.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, cooperative work relationships and professionalism.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Critical thinking, logic and reasoning to evaluate solutions and decisions.
  • Ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously with minimal direction.
  • Strong computer and typing skills.
Education and Knowledge
  • Must be eligible to work in a dental practice setting.
  • CPR certification obtained through the American Heart Association, American Red Cross or equivalent course.
  • Previous customer service or healthcare experience is a plus but not required.
