We are in search of a Senior Health Planner to support our growing Health practice and continue a legacy of delivering award‑winning integrated healthcare planning and design. For more than 50 years, HDR has delivered evidence‑based design solutions that enhance the health and human condition of those we serve.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Provide planning, design and coordination support on projects and pursuits.
  • Engage in problem solving, teamwork, critical thinking, mathematical reasoning, and visualization to create accurate and detailed drawings.
  • Prepare drawings and specification documents.
  • Research, plan, design and administer building projects for clients, applying knowledge of design construction procedures, zoning and building codes, and building materials.
  • Understand healthcare trends.
  • Prepare health planning presentation drawings, diagrams, and narratives.
  • Assist in the coordination of all disciplines related to building design and health planning.
  • Mentor junior staff or other interested colleagues in health planning practices.
  • Perform other duties as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Architecture.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in Health Architecture.
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in Health Planning.
  • Architectural registration.
  • Strong computer skills (AutoCAD, REVIT, Rhino, MS Office, Blue Beam).
  • Advanced credentials desired (e.g. ACHA, LEED, EDAC, AICP, etc.).
  • Willing to travel.
  • Knowledge of healthcare architecture planning and design.
  • Capability to make client presentations.
  • Leadership and management skills are required.
  • Detail‑oriented, self‑motivated, and flexible.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture or closely related field.
  • A minimum of 12 years of related experience.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of materials, methods and tools involved in the construction of buildings.
  • Understanding of design techniques, tools and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, prints, drawings and models.
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee‑owned culture is a must.
