As an Associate Designer, you will support Home Owned Brand Product Design and Development with direction from design leaders to achieve overall product design strategy and merchant objectives. Key product categories include home textiles (bedding, toss & throw, soft home, and gifting.) You will be expected to maintain a diligent and self‑directed approach to workload, and provide accurate and timely communication to internal and external partners.

You will support the team in product/trend research, trend concepts, product vignettes, color, and design/development of products. You will also assist the team in preparing product specs, and developing trim, print, and embellishment packages. In addition, you’ll translate ideas using CAD/hand sketches. This includes completing design/technical sketches and professional presentation boards/materials for meetings, and vendor partners. You will also work closely with the Technical Design department, working together to communicate fit and construction details.

• Four‑year degree in Design, Fine Art, or similar area of study, or equivalent experience
• 1‑3 years of experience
• Computer design system skills including InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
• Experience in CAD illustration or 2D/3D software
• Interest in AI design skills
• Ability to stay aware of Trends and Fashion
• Understanding of textiles or raw materials & product production
• Experience assimilating product feedback
• Ability to research and apply market/trend information
• Ability to build strong partnerships in order to successfully work in a team environment

This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target’s needs. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member’s core role will need to be performed both onsite at the Target HQ MN location the role is assigned to and virtually, depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day.
