Obstetrics and Gynecology - OB Hospitalist - Physician

At Mercy Hospital, we are seeking a passionate OB/GYN Hospitalist to join our dedicated maternity care team at the Mother Baby Center. Here, compassionate care meets cutting-edge innovation, and you’ll play a vital role in providing exceptional obstetrical and gynecologic care.

As an OB Hospitalist, you will:

• Provide in-house obstetrical coverage for the labor and delivery unit, antepartum and postpartum units, and triage area.
• Perform emergency cesarean sections, spontaneous vaginal births, postpartum tubal ligations, and round on antepartum, laboring, and postpartum patients.
• Manage care for patients without an assigned physician and those requiring emergency obstetric care.
• Offer backup support and surgical assistance to staff Obstetricians as needed.
• Educate and consult with patients and their families on treatment plans.
• Practice with cultural sensitivity, respecting individual autonomy and legal responsibilities.
• Engage in a multidisciplinary team approach to case management.
• Address GYN concerns in the Emergency Department and perform basic gynecologic surgeries (D&C and laparoscopy).

To thrive in this role, you should have:

• MD, DO, or foreign equivalency training.
• Board Eligible/Board Certified (BE/BC) in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
• An active, non-restricted medical license in Minnesota (or the ability to obtain one).
• Current MN DEA certification and National Provider Identifier (NPI).
• Ability to meet credentialing and hospital privileges criteria.
• BLS Tier 3 certification within 6 months of hire.
