Faculty Position - Pediatric Pathology; Academic​/Clinician Track

The Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology at the University of Minnesota Medical School seeks a full‑time ABP board‑certified or eligible pediatric pathologist with an interest in gastrointestinal and liver pathology. Academic rank, compensation and appointment type will be determined by qualifications and experience.

Applicants must demonstrate teaching ability and scholarly productivity. Minimum requirements include an MD or equivalent, eligibility for licensure in Minnesota, board certification or eligibility in AP or AP/CP, completion of an ACGME‑accredited pathology residency and pediatric pathology fellowship. Sub‑specialty training in GI/liver pathology with a pediatric focus is also highly desirable.

This position will join a team of pathologists providing services for patients at M Health Fairview University of Minnesota Medical East and West and the Masonic Children’s Hospital. Sign‑out responsibilities, autopsy service, resident and fellow supervision, and conference participation are shared with other faculty in the division. Leadership opportunities in education or digital pathology exist for qualified candidates.

Academic time will be used to pursue scholarly work in the candidate’s area of specialty or research expertise. Preferred candidates will be active in national organizations and foster an academic environment for medical students, residents, fellows and faculty.

This role is dually employed by University of Minnesota Physicians and the University of Minnesota. Total salary is market competitive and based on AAMC benchmarks. Clinical salary, aligned with effort, is provided through M Physicians. Additional salary from the University depends on the academic effort of the successful candidate.
