PART-TIME CASUAL POSITIONS AVAILABLE Class 3 education assistant/tutor position. AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) program helps students who will be first generation college students get prepared for college. $24.03 per hour
. Various locations district wide. 2-12 hours per week; position does not include benefits.
- Primary responsibility is to work with students in small groups to reinforce skills in reading and math.
- Work with students in small groups on the process of writing in all subject areas, study skills and other aspects of college preparation.
- Set an example of personal excellence and high expectations for AVID students to follow.
- Communicate frequently and honestly with the AVID coordinator/teacher(s).
- Attend tutor training.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED required. Some college preferred.
- Ability to work well with students, staff and parents.
- Excellent observational skills.
- Good communication skills with students.
- Ability to think on your feet and patience is important.
- Able to attend work regularly and report to work in a timely manner.
