Para educator Special Education
Join Anoka-Hennepin School District as a full-time Para educator for the 2025‑26 school year.
Responsibilities- Assist in instruction of students with disabilities in mainstream, resource room, or center‑based settings.
- Manage behavior through redirecting, calming, or removing disruptive students.
- Monitor and record student progress in academics, daily living skills, dressing, grooming, and social skills.
- Manage physical needs including toileting, feeding, dressing, lifting, positioning, and transporting students in wheelchairs.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Personal Care Assistant certification completed within 30 days of start date.
- Completed 60 semester/90 quarter credits or hold an associate degree (or higher) from a regionally accredited institution, or passed the Para Educator exam or Para Pro exam.
- Good communication, interpersonal, and record‑keeping skills.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 40 pounds.
$20.00‑$27.30 per hour, depending on education, experience, and certification. Additional pay adjustments for center‑based or transition program assignments.
BenefitsInsurance benefits available for positions of 6 hours or more per day.
