Overview
Augsburg University invites applications for adjunct faculty positions in the Department of Health, Physical Education, and Exercise Science to teach undergraduate courses in 2026. This search establishes a pool of instructors for Spring, Summer, or Fall 2026, with selections on an as‑needed basis throughout the year.
ResponsibilitiesInstructors will teach 2–3 day‑per‑week undergraduate courses, 15–16 weeks per term, and allocate approximately 12–15 hours/week. Duties include preparing and grading course materials, responding to student emails, holding office hours, communicating course progress, and collaborating with the course coordinator.
QualificationsApplicants must hold a Ph.D. or Master’s in Exercise Sport Psychology or a related field. Commitment to student engagement, success with diverse learners, intercultural competency, inclusive practice, and authentic representation are required.
- Academic degree:
Ph.D. or Master’s in Exercise Sport Psychology or related field. - Demonstrated teaching experience at the university level (graduate‑level teaching preferred).
- Commitment to equity and inclusive pedagogies.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Subject to the collective bargaining agreement with SEIU, Local 284:
- $5,800 to $6,175 per undergraduate course (2025‑26 academic year).
- 2–4% retirement contribution match.
- Tuition discount for employees and dependents.
- Transit pass discount.
- Not eligible for healthcare benefits.
* Course refers to a typical 4‑credit course that has met minimum enrollment requirements.
Adjunct faculty must reside in Minnesota or Wisconsin.
