If you are selected for an Early Contract you will be given a temporary contract. This contract enables you to participate in our internal hiring process along with current Minneapolis Public School educators for licensed positions in the upcoming school year. Historically, people offered Early Contracts have secured licensed positions in MPS. Screening takes place in February and March and the internal hiring process takes place April and May.

SUMMARY
Under general supervision of the building administrator and the Manager of School Social Work Services, promote and support students' academic success and social engagement by providing a vital link among the school, home and community. Uphold ethical standards of social work practice and advocate for student, family and staff well-being. Serve as advocate for students and families from historically underserved and marginalized communities.
Promotes anti-bias and anti-racist practices and curriculum.
School Social Workers (SSWs) are involved in providing services to all students. SSWs provide direct services to students and their families including individual service, group work and classroom presentations as well as providing crisis intervention and consultation and making referrals to community agencies. SSWs are part of the evaluation process for students with potential disabilities as well as often providing direct and indirect services.
Enthusiastically promotes the Superintendent's goals and priorities in compliance with all policies and procedures.
