Position Summary:
This graduate assistant (GA) reports directly to the Head Coach for Cross Country, under the direction of the Director of Athletics. The GA will support the Men’s Cross-Country and Track & Field programs in recruiting, compliance, sport teaching, and general program operations.

Essential Functions:
- Recruiting: Identify outstanding student‑athlete candidates for North Central College and develop relationships with recruits, parents, high school/club coaches, teachers, and alumni. Organize, coordinate, and delegate recruiting tasks, maintain the recruiting database, and collaborate with the Admission Office on recruiting activities.
- Compliance Oversight: Maintain current knowledge of NCAA and conference regulations and assist in their adherence.
- Sport Teaching: Assist the Head Coach in building team culture, support organized practice sessions, and model sportsmanship, competitiveness, and humility.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
- Accepted into a graduate program at North Central College.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated problem‑solving and critical thinking skills.
- Intermediate skills using MS Office Suite, including Word and Excel.
- Experience in college athletics strongly preferred.
- Valid and unencumbered driver’s license preferred.
Approximate work hours: 20 hours per week during the academic year, excluding academic breaks.
