Instructional Assistant

Location West St. Paul, Minnesota More than 30### Description St. Joseph’s Catholic School in West St. Paul is currently seeking a part-time instructional assistant for the elementary program to provide academic, social, emotional and spiritual support for our K-5 students for the 2025-26 school year and beyond.  Instructional assistants work collaboratively with teachers and students; supporting learning needs, supervising and substituting in classes as needed.  

The ideal candidate is a flexible “team player” who demonstrates a love of faith and commitment to working with children. We are fortunate to have one of the largest and most established Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) programs in the Archdiocese, fully-integrated within our school’s PreK-to-5th-Grade program. Our school, a primary means of evangelization and education, has been serving young people for more than 75 years.

We currently serve over 415 K-8 students and over 70 students in preschool.### Qualifications The ideal applicant will have the following qualifications:
* An understanding of, commitment to, and passion for the mission of Catholic education as defined by the Church and demonstrated integrity as a credible witness of the Catholic faith and a commitment to academic excellence as an essential component of authentic and integral Catholic education.
* Ability to contribute to a culture of: (1) faith in Christ and His Church that is mature, informed, accountable, and dynamically missionary; (2) respect for the dignity, freedom, responsibility, and social vocation of the human person made in God’s image; and (3) human excellence reinforced through high, yet reasonable expectations for learning and for virtuous interactions among all members of the school community.
* The ability to work with effectively with students in small group situations, giving support wherever necessary
* Education degree preferred, but not required.
