Sr./Principal Electrical Systems Engineer - Twin Cities MN Medical Device - Permanent Opportunity - Electromechanical Class II & III - Competitive Base + Bonus

Please see the below requirements for a Sr. or Principal Electrical/Systems Engineer to join a medical device firm in the NW Twin Cities Metro.

This is a permanent opportunity with a well-established and growing medical technology company that partners with top-tier innovators to bring complex Class II and III electromechanical devices to market. The team is highly collaborative and cross-functional, focused on delivering high-impact solutions in a regulated environment.

In this electrically focused systems engineering role, you'll take a hands-on approach to electrical systems design, including Altium-based PCB layout and ensuring compliance with IEC 60601 standards. You'll also work closely with cross-disciplinary teams to define and manage system requirements, conduct risk analyses, and develop verification and validation strategies - while actively soliciting input from customers and end users to ensure the final product meets real-world needs.

Requirements:

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Experience with electrical system design, including PCB layout (ideally Altium) and IEC 60601 compliance.
• Strong background in systems engineering within a regulated environment (medical device preferred).
• Proficiency with Python and MATLAB for data analysis, automation, or test development.
• Ability to work onsite 4-5 days/week in the NW Twin Cities Metro.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with embedded systems or firmware integration.
• Exposure to design for manufacturability (DFM) and design transfer processes.
• Prior involvement in customer-facing technical roles or requirements gathering from clinical stakeholders.
• Knowledge of risk management standards such as ISO 14971.
