Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to provide in‑house functional engineering expertise across Plumbing, HVAC, and HVAC Control Systems for a nationwide portfolio of facilities. This role will focus on maintaining and developing engineering standards, improving energy efficiency, supporting design consistency, and guiding commissioning efforts across all projects.

• Develop, maintain, and update standards for plumbing and HVAC system design to ensure consistency across all facilities.
• Partner with external design consultants to maintain alignment with design standards and goals.
• Conduct quality control reviews of design documents, drawings, and specifications for adherence to established standards.
• Coordinate with commissioning consultants and develop a comprehensive commissioning program for mechanical systems.
• Perform field investigations and evaluations of existing systems to troubleshoot and resolve performance issues.
• Collaborate closely with internal Architecture, Construction, Real Estate & Development, and Facility Operations teams to provide integrated, practical engineering solutions.
• Create and analyze energy models to recommend energy‑saving measures and support corporate sustainability goals.
• Support procurement and installation of mechanical equipment, ensuring high‑quality implementation and adherence to specifications.
• Participate in construction administration, including responding to RFIs, reviewing submittals, and documenting field observations and deficiencies.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 7–10 years of experience in mechanical system design, with exposure to multiple HVAC system types.
• Experience with commissioning processes and energy efficiency standards.
• Strong knowledge of applicable building codes and industry standards.
• Ability to conduct on‑site investigations, including roof and ceiling access.
• Excellent communication skills for coordination with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
