We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to provide in‑house functional engineering expertise across Plumbing, HVAC, and HVAC Control Systems for a nationwide portfolio of facilities. This role will focus on maintaining and developing engineering standards, improving energy efficiency, supporting design consistency, and guiding commissioning efforts across all projects.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, maintain, and update standards for plumbing and HVAC system design to ensure consistency across all facilities.
- Partner with external design consultants to maintain alignment with design standards and goals.
- Conduct quality control reviews of design documents, drawings, and specifications for adherence to established standards.
- Coordinate with commissioning consultants and develop a comprehensive commissioning program for mechanical systems.
- Perform field investigations and evaluations of existing systems to troubleshoot and resolve performance issues.
- Collaborate closely with internal Architecture, Construction, Real Estate & Development, and Facility Operations teams to provide integrated, practical engineering solutions.
- Create and analyze energy models to recommend energy‑saving measures and support corporate sustainability goals.
- Support procurement and installation of mechanical equipment, ensuring high‑quality implementation and adherence to specifications.
- Participate in construction administration, including responding to RFIs, reviewing submittals, and documenting field observations and deficiencies.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 7–10 years of experience in mechanical system design, with exposure to multiple HVAC system types.
- Experience with commissioning processes and energy efficiency standards.
- Strong knowledge of applicable building codes and industry standards.
- Ability to conduct on‑site investigations, including roof and ceiling access.
- Excellent communication skills for coordination with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
