We are looking for a Senior Hardware Firmware Engineer to support our SJE Rhombus brand.

This role will work out of our New Hope, MN location.

The Job

• Develop firmware and design hardware for a variety of custom embedded control products ranging from pump control to smart energy products and other emerging technologies.
• Design and review schematics and hardware layouts.
• Develop firmware and test both firmware and hardware for embedded controllers to ensure they meet functional specifications and customer needs.
• Work closely with the R&D team to understand requirements for product implementation.

The Skills, Education, and Experience You Need

• Writing embedded firmware in C/C++ (used primarily in microcontrollers from NXP, Atmel and ST) with and without the use of a Real-Time Operating System.
• Reading schematics and debugging embedded controllers on circuit boards.
• Hardware design for embedded controller applications.
• Creating schematics, selecting components, designing analog and digital circuits to meet customer requirements.
• Experience with I2C, UART, SPI interfaces and UI/UX development.
• Experience with Ethernet, Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth and other wireless protocols.

4‑year degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent. 7-10 years of experience required.

Additional Information

• Hours:
  
  Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.
• Paid Time Off:
  Up to 120 hours in first year plus 8 paid holidays.
• Starting salary: $95,000 – $120,000 per year depending on experience.
• Benefits: robust package including health, life, short‑term and long‑term disability, dental and vision insurance, and other options.
