If you are on the civil design track, you'll lead and mentor an interdisciplinary team to deliver multimodal transportation infrastructure in a wide range of contexts from roadway reconstructions and streetscapes in highly urban settings to signature trail projects in suburban and rural areas that highlight and enhance the natural environment. You use programs such as AutoCAD and/or Micro Station in order to fulfill production work on your projects.
You will manage projects; guide your team and clients through concept development, design review, bid package development, permitting, and construction management. You will help develop construction documents; and work with your team to ensure that our projects are consistently of the highest quality.
If you’re on the transportation design track, you'll help lead the team in creation of signing and pavement marking plans, maintenance of traffic, and traffic signal plans for roadway projects and streetscapes in urban settings. You will use programs such as Synchro, Highway Capacity Software, Micro Station, and AutoCAD to fulfill production work on your projects. You'll use state of the art tools and practices to help create sustainable multimodal transportation networks.
You'll also have the opportunity to work on a wide spectrum of projects that inform your design work, including road diet analyses, multimodal traffic studies for new development, roundabout studies, trail/roadway intersection studies and designs, and parking studies and design guidance.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in civil engineering
- Professional Engineering license (PE/PTOE) in Minnesota (or ability to obtain)
- 10+ years of experience
- 3+ years of experience in project or design management
- A broad knowledge base in civil engineering
- Understanding of basic geometric design principles of transportation facilities and industry transportation facility design standards
