Position Overview

Shadin Avionics is seeking a hands‑on, energetic, and experienced Electrical Engineer to provide concept definition, analysis, design and integration of electrical systems for rugged safety‑critical aerospace products. The position will involve design, parts selection, and schematic capture of new circuit card assemblies, as well as generating and executing hardware verification tests and troubleshooting electrical assemblies.

Responsibilities
  • Electrical design of aerospace products including digital embedded microcontrollers, sensor and data acquisition interfaces, and monitoring circuitry
  • Work from customer requirements to determine systems and hardware requirements and design
  • Component selection, derating, and detailed design in high‑reliability, severe environments; perform reliability analysis and coordinate reliability testing
  • Satisfy built‑in‑test and fault monitoring requirements for inputs and outputs of control systems and other embedded applications
  • Develop and/or perform operational, maintenance, or testing procedures for electronic products, components, equipment, or systems
  • Work with or even generate test software used in the prove‑out of hardware design and custom test equipment required for design verification, qualification, and manufacturing of custom products
  • Prepare, review, and/or maintain maintenance schedules, design documentation, or operational reports and charts to ensure that progress and performance can be tracked
  • Troubleshoot electrical device problems to ensure that issues are resolved efficiently
  • Research, develop, design, and test electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks
  • Produce products according to specifications, using the most cost‑effective and efficient means
  • Include use of circuit theory, microcontroller design and development, and instrumentation
Qualifications
  • MS or BS in electrical engineering, computer engineering or related field
  • Minimum 2 years of circuit design experience for embedded systems
  • Familiarity with signal integrity as well as with hazardous material selection preferred
  • Experience with brushless DC motors is a strong plus
  • Proven ability to provide independent evaluations and application of engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria, using judgement in making adaptations and modifications
  • Ability to work on a team and with other departments to meet the organization’s and customer’s needs
  • Ability to work in a highly regulated environment (FAA)
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills and strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrated time management and project management skills
  • Ability to create technical proposals and present ideas
  • Highly motivated with the ability to work autonomously
  • Due to U.S. State Department restrictions on access to technology, candidates must be “U.S. Persons” as defined by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) 22 CFR 120‑130

Compensation

$ to $130,000 per year, depending on experience and fit to Shadin requirements.

Eden Prairie, MN – Must relocate before starting work. This position is 100% on‑site.*
