Mid-level Environmental Compliance Specialist
Join AECOM as a Mid-level Environmental Compliance Specialist (Environmental Compliance Specialist III) to support our Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Compliance team. This hybrid position can be based in our Cincinnati, OH, Fort Collins, CO, or Minneapolis, MN offices.

Job SummaryThe successful candidate will use deep knowledge of multi-media environmental compliance to support clients across industrial, high‑tech, oil & gas, federal, state, and local municipal sectors. They will conduct regulatory analysis, perform compliance inspections and audits, develop corrective measures, and prepare environmental reports, permits, and plans.
Responsibilities- Interpret and record data, conduct analyses, and compare findings to local, state, and federal regulations to ensure compliance.
- Conduct independent analysis and investigation work obtained from multiple sources.
- Perform compliance inspections and audits to assess and review compliance.
- Participate in developing corrective measures, procedures, and recommendations for best management practices (BMP).
- Develop environmental reports, permits, and plans (e.g., Tier II / TRI reports, NPDES Permits/SWPPPs, RCRA Permits/Reporting, SPCC Plans).
- Detail‑oriented, focused on preparing accurate project deliverables.
- BA/BS in Environmental Science or similar degree.
- 4 years of relevant experience in multi-media environmental compliance.
- Ability to travel up to 30% as needed, both locally and nationally.
- Valid US Driver’s License.
- US Citizenship required.
- 5+ years of multi-media environmental compliance experience.
- Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and permitting processes for oil & gas, industrial, and high‑tech clients.
- Prior experience as an environmental consultant highly desired.
- Experience conducting EHS audits.
- Certifications or credentials (CPEA, CHMM, CSP, ASP) are a plus.
