A growing, employee-owned engineering and consulting firm is seeking a Senior Water Resource Engineer to lead and expand an established water resources practice.
This leadership role will oversee a team of engineers and technical specialists focused on hydrology/hydraulics, drainage, stormwater management, floodplain management, and erosion control. The Director will guide technical delivery, business development, client relationships, staffing, and strategic growth, with a strong emphasis on transportation-related water resources projects.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and grow the Water Resources group and develop new markets and clients
- Oversee drainage, stormwater, and water resources projects
- Develop proposals, scopes, fee estimates, and marketing strategies
- Build and maintain client relationships and secure new work
- Manage project quality, budgets, schedules, and staff development
- Represent the firm at industry and professional events
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Water Resources, or related field
- 15+ years of water resources engineering experience
- Strong hydrology/hydraulics and stormwater expertise
- PE license in Minnesota or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Experience with MnDOT standards and local watershed requirements
- Transportation project experience strongly preferred
- Proof business development and proposal experience
- Strong leadership, communication, and client-management skills
- Proficiency with drainage design and hydrologic/hydraulic modeling software
