Minneapolis, Minnesota

The Controller will lead and oversee the company’s accounting and financial operations, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, improving tools and processes, and supporting strategic decision‑making. The role reports directly to the CFO.

• Oversee general accounting and financial operations (AP, AR, billing, payroll) and coordinate across the company.
• Lead accounting practices, maintain internal controls, develop policies, ensure compliance with tax requirements, GAAP, and FAR.
• Support external audits, tax filings, and FAR compliance.
• Manage annual financial reviews and audits (FAR, 401(k), ESOP valuation).
• Prepare financial reporting, variances, analyses, modeling, and executive reporting.
• Support FP&A activities including budgeting, forecasting, and analysis.
• Proactively review and optimize tools, processes, and technology to reduce cost and improve capabilities.
• Partner with leadership on strategic initiatives, M&A, and organic growth.
• Lead, mentor, and develop accounting and finance team members; foster a positive work environment.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 10+ years of progressively responsible accounting experience, with 5+ years leading a team in Accounting and Financial Operations.
• CPA preferred.
• Experience in AEC or professional services preferred.
• Familiarity with Deltek Vision or Vantagepoint and Paylocity preferred.
• Experience with ESOP preferred.
• Working knowledge of FAR and audit compliance preferred.
• Strong business acumen, analytical skills, ability to communicate financial results to non‑financial leaders.
• Demonstrated ability to streamline processes, build controls, lead system improvements.
• Hands‑on leadership and willingness to support all areas as needed.
• Advanced Excel proficiency and experience with Microsoft Office tools.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Base salary range: $140,000 - $185,000.
