Investment Operations Analyst

Description

We are looking for a sharp, detail-driven Investment Operations Analyst to support an investment loan portfolio in Minneapolis, Minnesota. In this role, you will help maintain accurate reporting, evaluate loan and portfolio performance, and strengthen day-to-day operational controls across investment activity. This position is well suited for someone who enjoys working with financial data, improving processes, and partnering with internal teams and external service providers to keep operations running smoothly.

Responsibilities:

- Lead recurring financial reporting activities for the investment portfolio, ensuring information is complete, accurate, and delivered on schedule.

- Review monthly investor remittance activity and reconcile loan-level data, including interest accruals, payoff activity, and delinquency reporting.

- Compile month-end portfolio metrics for lending partners and validate key balances such as principal, and interest reserve positions.

- Verify the accuracy and consistency of data tied to newly acquired assets before it is incorporated into reporting and monitoring processes.

- Support loan funding administration by assessing draw requests against project progress and facilitating timely disbursements to contractors.

- Coordinate data gathering and reconciliation efforts across internal records, servicers, fund administrators, and other external providers.

- Produce and maintain portfolio performance reports and track records to support ongoing analysis and management oversight.

- Monitor cash activity across the portfolio and assist with capital calls, drawdowns, and investor distribution processing.

- Respond to investor information requests and contribute to due diligence materials, ad hoc analyses, and special projects as needed.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, business, or a related discipline.

- At least 1 year of experience in investment operations, financial analysis, fund accounting, real estate finance, or a similar area.

- Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to work with complex formulas, reconciliations, large data sets, and reporting models.

- Demonstrated strength in financial reporting, account reconciliation, and performance analysis.

- Strong analytical judgment with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

- Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and external partners.

- A process-focused approach and interest in enhancing workflows, controls, and operational efficiency.
