Private Equity Associate

Description

We are looking for a Private Equity Associate to join a dynamic investment team in Twin Cities, Minnesota. In this role, you will help assess private equity investment opportunities by combining rigorous financial analysis with thoughtful market research. You will also contribute to portfolio oversight and support strategic discussions that shape investment decisions.

Responsibilities:

- Partner with the private equity team to assess potential fund investments opportunities.

- Perform detailed research on industries, competitive landscapes, and individual businesses to support investment recommendations.

- Build and refine financial models, valuation work, and investment materials used in transaction evaluation and decision-making.

- Track the performance and developments of existing portfolio companies highlighting key risks and opportunities.

- Prepare concise analyses and presentation content for internal review meetings, including investment committee discussions.

- Support strategic initiatives and ad hoc projects that advance the objectives of the private equity firm.

Requirements - Bachelor's degree, ideally in finance or accounting.

- At least 2 years of experience in investment banking, consulting, accounting, or a related finance environment.

- Demonstrated record of strong academic performance and attention to detail.

- Advanced analytical skills with the ability to communicate findings clearly in writing and conversation.

- Strong experience creating financial models and valuation analyses.

- Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

- Highly organized, adaptable, and disciplined, with a strong sense of accountability and work ethic.
