Our goal is to ensure that all students have access to flexible learning environments and educators have the tools they need to support their students. We are on a mission to create innovative, proven learning technology, partnering with educators to ignite student potential. We are a Remote First organization with a strong commitment to excellence, innovation, and customer satisfaction.
WhatYou’ll Do
We are seeking a strategic, policy-savvy Vice President of Government Relations to lead Edmentum's national and state advocacy agenda. In this enterprise-impact role, you’ll architect and execute a comprehensive government relations strategy that advances equitable access to technology-enabled learning solutions and positions Edmentum as a trusted thought leader in K–12 education policy.
You’ll serve as the organization's primary driver of legislative and regulatory engagement, shaping policy environments, securing strategic funding streams, and building high-trust relationships with key stakeholders across federal, state, and local landscapes. You’ll lead cross‑functional alignment around advocacy priorities, embed policy strategy into our growth roadmap, and ensure Edmentum’s voice is represented in critical forums that influence the future of education.
Inthis Role, You Will:
- Lead the development and execution of Edmentum’s national and state government relations strategy, setting 2–3 high‑impact policy priorities that align with our long‑term growth goals and mission to expand equitable access to learning.
- Translate national priorities into actionable, state‑specific advocacy plans that align with federal programs (e.g., Title I, ESSER, IDEA) and state‑level initiatives, ensuring Edmentum’s solutions are positioned for adoption and funding.
- Build and maintain trusted, bipartisan relationships with legislators, education agencies, governors’ offices, federal officials, and advocacy organizations to influence policy and funding decisions.
- Deploy and manage a network of lobbyists, advisors, and consultants to advance strategic mandates and amplify Edmentum’s voice in key policy conversations.
- Build a national advocacy platform where Edmentum is a recognized voice on education innovation, equity, and outcomes.
- Conduct ongoing state‑by‑state analysis of political conditions, funding structures, and policy trends to identify opportunities and risks, and develop tailored action plans for each state.
- Create and distribute policy intelligence briefs to internal stakeholders, enabling proactive strategy, sales enablement, and cross‑functional alignment. Partner with field sales teams to identify and pursue state‑specific funding opportunities, supporting complex deal structures that depend on policy alignment or grant eligibility.
- Collaborate with product, research, and strategy teams to ensure Edmentum’s solution roadmap aligns with state approval processes and funding priorities.
- Shape Edmentum’s public narrative around policy priorities in partnership with marketing and thought leadership teams, reinforcing our commitment to student outcomes and educational equity.
- You have 10+ years of experience in government relations, public policy, or advocacy.
- You have 8+ years experience within K–12 education, EdTech, or workforce development.
- You have a proven track record of shaping education policy at both state and federal levels.
- You bring deep bipartisan relationships across the U.S. education landscape.
- You have expertise in K–12 funding structures, legislative processes, and approval pathways.
- You are a strategic thinker with exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
- You hold an advanced degree in Public Policy, Education, Law, or Business (preferred).
- You are familiar with emerging EdTech trends and their policy implications.
- You have experience representing organizations before legislatures, boards, and advocacy coalitions.
- You are willing to take on evolving responsibilities based on business needs.
