Medical Receptionist/Front Desk‑Rehab

Base Pay Range: $18.89/hr - $28.03/hr
Brief DescriptionThis position is responsible for creating a positive first impression to patients, completing accurate registration and scheduling, performing various administrative duties, and serving as a liaison between patient, provider, and insurance company.
Job Functions- Performs basic receptionist duties including answering and returning phone calls, retrieving voicemail, and maintaining department office equipment and supplies.
- Greets and provides courteous customer service to internal and external customers.
- Assures accurate processing of patient registration and scheduling.
- Scans, files and posts documents into patient charts.
- Assures reimbursement through basic insurance processing tasks and coordinates care with Ridgeview Patient Financial Services.
- Interfaces with payors to determine benefits and coordinate authorization, serving as a liaison between patient, insurance company and provider.
- Maintains clinic statistics.
- Monitors petty cash.
- Trains and mentors new and current staff.
- Uses advanced skills in managing setup and modification of clinician schedules and extracting data.
- Coordinates requests for release of medical information.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education /Work Experience
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Two years of medical office experience.
- Knowledge of basic computer functions and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to respond appropriately to unpredictable situations and diverse patient populations.
- Ability to work autonomously and as a team.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Intermediate knowledge of insurance information.
- Ability to multi‑task.
- Ability to communicate in English for effective written and verbal correspondence in order to complete job functions.
- Previous electronic medical software experience.
Many factors are taken into consideration when determining compensation such as position requirements, experience, education, knowledge, and skills along with location and internal equity. Pay listed does not include any shift, weekend, or other differentials.
