• Collects blood and/or performs Point of Care (POC) testing as assigned.
• Cleans and re‑stocks POC supplies and prepares phlebotomy carts/trays.
• Assists coworkers with draws and POC testing.
• Draws venous or capillary blood from newborn through geriatric patients using proper aseptic techniques.
• Draws and delivers all blood work (stat, timed, routine) within established departmental time frames.
• Draws venous and capillary blood into proper tubes and culture vials according to testing purposes.
• Performs and processes all POC tests on patients ranging from newborn to geriatrics.
• Completes clerical functions associated with POC testing documents.
• Reports incidents/issues regarding patients or employees timely to group leader or supervisor.
• Reports supply needs and equipment defects in a timely fashion.
• Logs refrigerator temperatures daily and reports if out of range to group leader or supervisor.
• Travels and performs phlebotomy duties and POC testing at health fairs and PSA testing sites, delivering specimens to the laboratory.
• Identifies patient population needs and modifies care accordingly (age, culture, language, hearing, visual impairments, etc.). Communicates with patients, parents, or caregivers at their level.
• Adheres to the standards identified in the clinic's organizational competencies.

• Lift light to moderately heavy objects (1‑15 lb frequently, 16‑25 lb occasionally, 26‑40 lb seldom). Objects >41 lb require assistance.
• Must be able to sit or stand for long periods; requires significant eye and hand coordination.
• Must perform repetitive tasks with the dominant hand frequently and continuously.
• Position requires travel.
• Extensive use of phone and PC.
• Fine dexterity with hands, steadiness.
• Walking, balancing, bending/kneeling, pushing/pulling, reaching/twisting.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Medical training: medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred. Required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
