We're looking for YOU, our next MnPRA CPRS: (This is an on-call position)

Job Summary

The MnPRA CPRS (Certified Peer Recovery Specialist) is responsible for delivering peer recovery support
services. The CPRS will host individual meetings with clients focused on education, advocacy, mentorship
and, attending groups and meetings in support of recovery.

This is an hourly on-call position, specifically providing one-on-one peer support services. After 90 days of
providing peer support services, while consistently billing 32 hours per week, the MnPRA CPRS will be
offered a full-time, benefit eligible position.

Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty
satisfactorily. The essential functions include the following:

• Provide one-on-one peer recovery support with individuals seeking help in maintaining their
recovery, helping clients work through any barriers they may be facing.

• Develop Recovery Wellness Plan (RWP), upon initial meeting with client(s) and set meaningful,
achievable goals. Ensure ongoing visibility of RWP with client care team.

• Connect clients with community resources, including treatment programs, housing support,
food assistance, and employment services.
Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards in accordance with MnPRA's Code of
Ethics.

• Document client interactions, progress, and services provided. A CPRS can bill up to a maximum
of 8 units per client (4 hours) in one day.

• Document billing services to submit hours to be paid based on billable services provided.

• Attend and participate in weekly meetings with your supervisor and weekly Licensed Alcohol
and Drug Counselor (LADC) supervision sessions.

• Maintain ongoing relationships with treatment centers, withdrawal management facilities, and
other community partners.

• Perform basic administrative tasks, including email correspondence, documentation
management, and report submissions.

Required Skills & Experience (Minimum Qualifications):

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.

• Must have a CPRS credential in good standing through the Minnesota Certification Board (MCB).

• Must abide by Minnesota Certification Board's (MCB's) code of ethics with the ability to
maintain professional boundaries while providing compassionate peer support.

• Excellent in-person communication, relationship management, and interpersonal skills.

• Previous experience with electronic health record (EHR) system, such as Credible preferred.

• Must have a personal lived experience related to substance use. (Someone who has their own
lived experience related to substance use. Having a friend or family member with this experience
does not meet this requirement.)

• Must be comfortable working with people with life-controlling challenges, including mental
health and addiction.

• Must have reliable transportation and be able to travel locally to meet clients.

• The ability to live and work by MnPRA's core values - practicing compassion, honor, respect,
integrity, servanthood, and trust.

• At least 1 year of freedom from problematic substances.

• For MnPRA CPRS's providing services to clients residing in partnering treatment organizations,
must be able to meet specific staff requirements outlined in Minnesota Statutes 245G.11.

Physical Requirements:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to
successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

• Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds at a time.

Compensation: $25 per billable service hour and $15.97 per hour for non billable administrative duties
