Health Informatics integrates health science with information and analytical sciences to identify, define, manage and communicate data, information, knowledge and wisdom in nursing practice. It supports the company’s vision for Whole Person Care through the pursuit of maintaining and improving the information systems in a reliable, unobtrusive manner, preserving therapeutic relationships and improving clinical outcomes.

Principle Responsibilities
  • Clinical and information systems
    • Provide support to patient care and operational areas in identifying, developing, implementing and maintaining efficient, effective clinical information and operational systems.
    • Actively seek opportunities to assess and evaluate systems and effectiveness for end‑users, focusing on ease of use, alignment with clinical practice and positive patient‑care outcomes. Leverage research and external searches.
    • Perform data analysis on performance and utilization of alerts, order sets and patient outcomes to evaluate effectiveness of interventions and opportunities for optimization. Develop reports, spreadsheets and databases using a variety of tools and data from multiple sources.
    • Participate in the development, implementation and ongoing operation and optimization of clinical decision‑making systems and processes that support effective, efficient, safe, timely, equitable and patient‑centered care.
  • Performance Improvement
    • Utilize the vision of whole‑person care, the principles of high reliability and relationship‑based nursing to shape future/ideal state designs.
    • Lead informatics improvement projects under coaching from the Senior or Lead.
    • Participate/lead in other projects related to organizational goals, strategies and regulatory requirements – in consultative and project‑lead roles.
    • Use business analysis skills and creativity to design and facilitate collaborative, cross‑functional sessions in current/future state workflow mapping, gap and root‑cause analysis, problem/process definition, user research and stories, backlog management, prototyping, and planning methodology.
    • Design and refine team analysis processes and improvement tools in collaboration with the team.
    • Evaluate usability and end‑user solutions.
    • Provide consultative informatics services to clinical and operational team members.
    • Apply change management principles to support humans through the change process and improvements.
    • Support the achievement of an integrated plan that includes company strategies.
  • Communication
    • Communicate concepts and ideas in a way that matches the audience’s level of understanding.
    • Select appropriate communication methods.
    • Promote candor and diverse opinions.
    • Deliver tough messages with respect and care.
    • Use positive influence to build broad support for change.
  • Compliance and Confidentiality
    • Follow relevant compliance regulations, guidelines and policies related to documentation and billing in daily work activities.
    • Meet requirements for annual compliance education.
    • Maintain confidentiality of content and medical records.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • 2+ years business analyst and/or health informaticist experience supporting EPIC applications in inpatient and ambulatory settings.
  • 2+ years of experience facilitating workflow sessions, identifying root causes, and supporting action plans for execution (PDSA, Waterfall, and/or Agile).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate’s or vocational degree in information systems, business, organizational change, sciences, or liberal arts.
Licenses / Certifications
  • EPIC Certifications / Proficiency required.
  • Quality Improvement / Process Improvement / Change Management certifications preferred.
