Scheduled within the clinic window of 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM ndi CST

POSITION SUMMARYThe Medical Support Assistant (MSA) provides on-site administrative and scheduling support in a fast-paced VA clinical environment. MSAs play a critical role in patient access, appointment management, and customer service while supporting multiple outpatient and specialty clinics.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Provide courteous, professional customer service to Veterans and clinical staff
- Maintain and manage appointment schedules for one or more VA clinics
- Schedule, reschedule, cancel, and track appointments, consults, recalls, and no-shows
- Operate standard office equipment and VA computer systems
- Communicate delays and scheduling issues to patients and clinic staff
- Adjust appointment times, dates, or locations to support clinic access
- Route messages and administrative correspondence appropriately
- Validate and update tinct patient demographic information
- Utilize Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams) daily
- Adhere to VA policies regarding privacy, HIPAA, and patient identification
- Perform other administrative duties as assigned to support clinic operations
- High School Diploma or GED (Required)
- Experience & Skills
- Experience with computer operations and data entry
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Experience scheduling appointments in a medical or administrative setting (preferred)
