Position Summary
Field Medical organization aims to be a trusted partner for internal stakeholders and kapital community, driving scientific exchange to enhance medical education, data generation, insight generation, and patients' access to medicine. The National Director, US Field Medical Immunology – Admilparant is a field‑based role focused on leading a team of Field Medical professionals. Direct reports include regional associate directors and region directors who manage a team of Immunology Medical Science Liaisons focused on Admilparant.
The director will oversee these functions in support of BMS Immunology medicines, specifically Admilparant, and all phases of associated clinical trials and launch.
- Ensure the team can drive scientific exchange with thought leaders, HCPs, and access stakeholders within a given geography to answer scientific, unsolicited product and HEOR related questions.
- Support and evaluate MSLs’ ability to present information to HCPs and respond to questions, ensuring medical accuracy and compliance with local procedures, ethical and legal guidelines.
- Actively assess the medical landscape by meeting with thought leaders to understand their needs and expertise. Continuously update knowledge in treatment strategies, products, unmet needs, clinical trials and scientific activities.
- Understand the competitive landscape and actively prepare to address informational needs of customers.
- Ensure MSLs can collect and provide meaningful medical insights back to the medical and commercial organizations to support strategy development.
- Provide direction for the overall execution of the Field Medical plan and ensure alignment with the US Medical Strategy Plan.
- Ensure matrix engagement.
- Support active CRO‑sponsored studies as agreed with medical management.
- Oversee support of BMS‑sponsored and interventional/non‑interventional studies, including site identification and assessment for patient recruitment.
- Collaborate with the clinical organization to enhance patient enrollment by identifying appropriate sites, interacting with investigators, and educating the community for referrals.
- Provide recommendations and insights to the clinical development team on study and site feasibility for BMS‑sponsored trials.
- Ensure BMS pharmacovigilance procedural documents are understood and applied to investigators of local studies, and alert BMS personnel to identified adverse events.
- Support MSL as primary liaison to investigators interested in investigator‑sponsored research, facilitating support to HCPs in ISR submissions.
- Develop and oversee the national Field Medical plan.
- Actively participate in cross‑functional medical matrix teams.
- Ensure adoption of cross‑functional institution/account planning approach.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of scientifically meaningful medical programs/projects in line with the local Medical and Field Medical plan.
- Support initial and ongoing medical/scientific area and product‑specific training and provide key scientific updates to internal stakeholders.
- Manage regional associate directors and region directors within the assigned disease space.
- Oversee MSL activities to ensure alignment with the Medical Plan.
- Ensure compliance with local laws, regulations, and BMS policies.
- Support employee development through coaching and direction.
- Ensure all employees understand and act within local business processes, compliance guidelines, FDA regulations and legal and ethical standards.
- Report to Vice President, US Field Medical Immunology and Cardiovascular (ICV).
- MD, Pharm
D, PhD, or science graduate with relevant pharmaceutical experience; MBA a plus. - At least 8+ years of clinical or pharmaceutical experience, including 6+ years of field medical experience with documented exceptional leadership performance.
- Demonstrated ability to lead national field medical projects or initiatives.
- Experience in account management.
- Track record managing multiple projects and priorities in cross‑functional teams.
- Experience in a matrix environment with ability to succeed in ambiguous settings.
