Join the People Team at Steele Brands! We are a fast‑paced, growing company looking for a dynamic People Operations Specialist to provide essential HR support that keeps the organization running smoothly and ensures employees have a positive and seamless experience throughout their employment journey. This role manages HR coordination activities, supports compliance, assists with recruitment logistics, and provides employee support while ensuring consistency and efficiency across HR processes.
This position partners with the People Experience Partner and Chief People Officer to execute day‑to‑day People Operations while enabling the broader strategic work of the People team.
Responsibilities- Assist with recruitment for corporate roles and corporate restaurant positions, including posting, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, and communicating with candidates.
- Maintain accurate candidate tracking, system updates, and onboarding timelines.
- Coordinate all onboarding logistics, including communication with new hires, paperwork completion, I‑9 verification, and scheduling orientation and required training.
- Oversee and complete all new hire system setup across multiple platforms including HRIS (Paylocity), operational systems (Aloha, R365), and required training or compliance systems. Ensure employees are accurately activated in payroll, POS, scheduling, and operational platforms.
- Coordinate offboarding logistics including system terminations, equipment returns, documentation, and status updates.
- Manage benefits administration, including new hire enrollment, qualifying events, status changes, and terminations across various benefit plans and carriers.
- Support payroll and HRIS data accuracy through timely updates and audits.
- Support employee relations through documentation, basic issue triage, and timely escalation as appropriate.
- Promote a positive, supportive, and values‑driven work environment.
- Assist in reviewing People‑related processes and recommend improvements for consistency, efficiency, and compliance.
- Participate in various ad‑hoc projects as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, or related field preferred.
- At least 3 years of Human Resources experience that includes recruiting, onboarding, and compliance.
- Experience administering or coordinating within HRIS systems and operational systems.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Proficient in MS Office and comfortable navigating multiple platforms.
- Excellent communication, attention to detail, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism.
