Position: Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP)

Human Resources Business Partner at Metropolitan Alliance of Connected Communities (MACC)

Metropolitan Alliance of Connected Communities (MACC) is a collaborative network of more than 60 human services nonprofits focused on generating solutions together to better serve the individuals and families in our communities.

As a Human Resources Business Partner, you will support the human‑resource needs of an assigned portfolio of member nonprofit organizations that subscribe to MACC’s HR service.

Compensation and Benefits: $60,000 – $70,000 annual salary (based on HR experience); generous paid time off; 24‑hour paid employee volunteer time; nine paid holidays and three floating holidays; competitive health, dental, vision insurance; HSA; flexible spending accounts; employer paid life, AD&D, long‑term disability; 4% employer match plus 2% contribution after one year in a 401(k) retirement plan.

Schedule:

Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Hybrid location: home or MACC office in Northeast Minneapolis. Travel to member sites required.

Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate HR service delivery for member organizations and develop a member organization‑specific HR roadmap.
  • Ensure each member organization has an up‑to‑date, legally compliant employee handbook aligned with MACC’s standard template.
  • Interpret handbook content to managers and employees and deliver other in‑scope HR services such as annual performance appraisal, wage increase cycle, employee engagement survey, harassment awareness and prevention training, and compensation analysis.
  • Guide managers and employees to the appropriate HR specialists for payroll, benefits, staffing or reporting questions.
  • Advocate as a customer advocate to resolve cross‑functional service delivery issues.
  • Attend member organization leadership meetings as requested and hold office hours on site at least monthly to support managers.
  • Coach and support managers and supervisors on talent management, employee relations, and performance management topics such as progressive discipline and Performance Improvement Plans.
  • Consult with legal counsel when recommending the completion of employee investigations or job description reviews during the annual performance cycle.
  • Advocate for employees when necessary and accessible to employees with concerns about unfair treatment or inappropriate activities.
  • Maintain compliance with unemployment, EEO, affirmative action, FLSA classification, and annual compliance reporting, and apply workforce certificate when applicable.
Qualifications:
  • Human Resources experience in a nonprofit or multiservice environment.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law, EEO, affirmative action, FLSA, and compliance reporting.
  • Excellent communication and coaching skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple portfolios and coordinate cross‑functional service delivery.
  • Proactive, customer‑focused, and collaborative attitude.
