Job Summary:

The Deskside Services Technician provides technical support for desktop computers, applications, and related technology. Responsibilities include the specification, installation, testing, and troubleshooting of computer systems and peripherals while adhering to established standards and guidelines. This role requires interactions with application software and operating systems to diagnose and resolve unique, non-recurring technical issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support for desktop computers, software applications, and peripherals.
  • Install, configure, and test computer systems and related equipment.
  • Diagnose and resolve unique, non-recurring technical issues.
  • Ensure compliance with established IT standards and guidelines.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues.
  • Assist in maintaining an inventory of all IT assets and equipment.
  • Provide end-user training and support as needed.
  • Document issues and solutions for future reference.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience in desktop support, IT helpdesk, or related technical support roles.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with hardware, software, and operating systems.
  • Familiarity with Windows, macOS, and enterprise applications.
  • Excellent problem-solving and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified:
    Modern Desktop Administrator, or ITIL.
  • Experience in enterprise IT environments.
  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals and remote support tools.
