Job Summary

Systems Administrator - US 2nd Shift (Tues-Sat, 1:30pm-10pm CST)

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain, monitor and manage assigned hardware and/or software systems, including execution and oversight of vendors for network and user environments, storage, security, end‑user computers, and peripherals; install and configure software, updates, server hardware and software, directories, storage, etc., per standards and requirements.
  • Provide level‑2 support, serving as the escalation point for specific areas of expertise, fielding technical support questions from end‑users, diagnosing system failures, and collaborating with vendors to resolve issues. Recommend and implement fixes to prevent recurrence and instruct users on correct equipment/software use.
  • Develop and implement operational processes, procedures, and documentation for systems administration, ensuring adherence to standards, methodologies, and policies to enhance productivity and effectiveness of employees, clients and vendor partners.
  • Perform daily system monitoring, verify integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, review logs, verify completion of scheduled jobs, and create, implement, and maintain monitoring and reporting processes.
  • Analyze, research, recommend, and implement innovative approaches to system administration tasks with a focus on automation, error reduction, and service improvement. Proactively evaluate production issues to identify needs, gaps and implement solutions.
  • Perform daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and data are backed up, recovery media are created and managed following best practices.
Required Qualifications
  • Associate degree or equivalent.
  • 3‑5 years of relevant work experience.
  • 3‑5+ years of increasingly complex and sophisticated systems administration experience.
  • 2‑3+ years of problem/incident management and troubleshooting experience within a technology operations environment.
  • 3+ years of broad systems experience in servers, networking, security, database, web hosting, desktop, capacity planning, and performance analysis.
  • Advanced F5

    Experience:

    LTM, GTM, APM, ASM, and iRule development.
  • Palo Alto firewall experience.
  • DNS troubleshooting experience.
  • Proven analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Experience installing and maintaining server hardware and peripherals.
  • Knowledge of virtualized systems (LPARs, WPARs, VMs, containers, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications
  • ITIL Foundation certification.
  • Working knowledge of LAN/WAN infrastructure: cabling, switches, routers, hubs, acceleration/de‑duplication devices.
  • Experience writing scripts in shell, Tk, Perl, VBScript, Python.
  • Broad knowledge of networking areas: routing, switching, security, firewalls, SASE, proxy, AWS networking, Azure networking.
  • Conceptual knowledge of servers, database, web hosting, capacity planning, performance analysis, virtualized systems, containers.
  • Confidence leading troubleshooting or recovery scenarios.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail, urgency, focus, and discipline.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with proven ability to collect and present system statistics and metrics.
  • Experience with automation tools (Ansible, Terraform, etc.).

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary: $74,800 – $100,000 per year. Compensation may vary based on knowledge, skills, experience and location. Variable pay options include bonuses, commissions, and long‑term incentives. We offer a comprehensive benefits program: vacation, sick leave, 401(k), health, dental and life insurance.
